January 17: Delegates from the Department for International Trade (DIT), British Embassy Bangkok, Visited PSU Phuket
A representative from each faculty gave a presentation about the programs offered and the potential areas of cooperation. Aj. Colin Gallagher, Assistant to the Dean for International Affairs and Student Development, for the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism; Dr. Woralak Bancha, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Affairs, for the Faculty of International Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Choodum, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, for the Faculty of Technology and Environment; and Dr. Wasimon Panichpattanakul, Assistant Dean for Student Admission and International Activities, for the College of Computing.
The main purpose of this visit was to identify the potential areas for collaboration in education, including education technology, between PSU Phuket and UK universities liaised by the British Embassy Bangkok. The opportunities discussed were summer programs, students and staff exchange programs, funding/scholarships, and joint academic and research programs. The meeting was concluded with a gift-exchange and commemorative photo-taking.
December 13: Delegates from Asia China Education & Culture Association (ACEC) Visited PSU Phuket
On December 13th, 2022 Mr. Abu Yang, Regional Executive Director of Asia China Education & Culture Association (ACEC), and Hussein bin Hanibah, Ph.D., Promotion & Marketing Coordinator from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, visited PSU Phuket at Meeting Room 2, 2nd floor of the President’s Office Building, (Bldg.7). The two delegates were warmly welcomed by Tagsina Sripracha, Ph.D., Assistant President for International Affairs, PSU Phuket Campus and representatives from IAC. The purpose of this visit was to discuss potential future collaboration between ACEC and PSU Phuket in areas such as graduate degree programs, undergraduate joint-degree programs, credit transfers, international internship programs, scholarships, joint academic and research programs and cross-cultural programs. The meeting was concluded with gift exchanges and commemorative photo-taking.
November 18: A Delegate from Multimedia University, Malaysia, Visited PSU Phuket
On November 18th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Lim Way Soong, Ph.D., Director of International Relations from Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia, visited PSU Phuket at Meeting Room 2, 2nd floor of the President’s Office Building, (Bldg.7). The delegate was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Pun Thongchumnum, Ph.D., Vice President for PSU Phuket Campus; Tagsina Sripracha, Ph.D., Assistant President for International Affairs, Phuket Campus; and representatives from Faculty of International Studies, College of Computing, and IAC. During the meeting, IAC gave a brief presentation about PSU Phuket followed by a presentation by the Faculty of International Studies and College of Computing. Additionally, Dr. Lim also gave a thorough presentation about MMU. The purpose of this visit was to discuss potential future collaboration opportunities between MMU and PSU Phuket such as staff and students exchange programs, and joint academic and research programs. The meeting was concluded with a gift exchange and commemorative photo-taking.
