Closure of PSU Phuket Hospital & Appreciation Event for the Medical Team of Doctors and Nurses

          On May 15, 2020, Assoc. Prof. Pun Tongchumnum, Ph.D., vice president of PSU Phuket, and Assoc. Prof. Puttisak Puttawibul, M.D., dean of Faculty of Medicine, met with Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana and Mr. Nathee Thinsakhu, Phuket Member of Parliament, to report on the operational progress of Prince of Songkla Hospital, Phuket Campus (second field hospital). The hospital has temporarily ceased treatment of COVID-19 patients due to improved outbreak situation in Phuket. All equipment and facilities will remain in the hospital in case of a new outbreak. In the early morning, PSU Phuket hosted an Appreciation Event and invited many local government representatives, public and private organizations, and distinguished guests including the mayors from Kathu, Muang Phuket, and Patong. The event is organized to thank the medical team of doctors and nurses who have fulfilled their honorable duties and dedicated their service for a month to assist and take care of COVID-19 patients at PSU Phuket hospital (2nd field hospital).
During this event, PSU Phuket and the public and private sectors agreed to work together to implement a healthcare policy that serves the people in the Andaman to fulfill the urgent needs in the area.

         In the midst of this unprecedented crisis, our humanity, compassion, and acts of kindness are our greatest tools to bring everybody together to fight against COVID-19.
