Local Organizations Visited PSU Phuket Second Field Hospital to Show Appreciation to the Medical Team during COVID-19

              On June 6th, 2020, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus hosted the PSU Phuket Campus Promotion Committee meeting to summarize the results of PSU Phuket Hospital (2nd field hospital) operation during the COVID-19 crisis in Phuket. The meeting also further discussed about the plan to establish the Andaman International Health Center according to the University Council policy. This health center consists of the Andaman International College of Health, PSU Phuket Hospital, and Wellness Center. The Andaman International College of Health will provide short-term and long-term courses for students. The College will begin accepting nursing students in academic year 2020 and both dentistry and medical technology students in academic year 2022. In the meeting, PSU Phuket management team, the Faculty of Medicine representatives, engineers, and other relevant parties agreed to renovate the areas of PSU Phuket Sports Complex for further use. According to the plan, the PSU Phuket Hospital is expected to be operational within 3 years with 150 beds capacity and approximately 600 outpatients a day. At this meeting, the Chairman of the Promotion Committee, the Honorable Committee of Prince of Songkla University Senate, Mr. Banyan Chansen, expressed his admiration on the progress made by PSU Phuket Campus.
