On February 20, 2026, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus (PSU Phuket), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President for Phuket Campus, together with Asst. Dr. Chantinee Boonchai, Assistant to the Dean for International Affairs, the Faculty of Technology and Environment (FTE), extended a warm welcome to a delegation from the University of Hyogo (UH), Japan, led by Prof. Hayato Uchida, Vice President of the University of Hyogo.

The meeting was held at Meeting Room 4, 3rd Floor, President’s Office Building, and via Zoom with Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalongrat Daengngam, representative from the Faculty of Science, PSU Hat Yai.

               The visit aimed to explore potential collaboration with the School of Human Science and Environment at UH and to share strategic focus areas in order to identify mutual interests for future partnership. Discussions focused on shared research interests, particularly in Climate Technology and Green Science. Both institutions also expressed strong interest in developing green energy and sustainable building technologies, as well as exchanging tools for environmental monitoring. Moreover, the possibility of organizing a student short course was discussed.

               In addition, the delegation observed advanced dental technologies and digital health innovations at the Songklanagarind Digital Dental Center Phuket (SDDC Phuket), showcasing PSU Phuket’s commitment to integrating technology with healthcare excellence.

The visit represents another step in strengthening academic ties between the two universities and paving the way for future joint research and student exchange opportunities.
