ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme Overview
The AIMS Programme is a collaborative and multilateral student exchange programme that involves both governments and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to enhance student mobility in Southeast Asia and beyond. The programme initially began as the Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand (M-I-T) Student Mobility Programme, launched in 2010 among the government of three countries to promote a cross-country student mobility.
Following its successful implementation, the M-I-T Student Mobility Programme was renamed to AIMS Programme given the expansion of its membership to cover other countries. Supported by continued commitment from member countries, Higher Education Institutions and students, AIMS Programme has offered the opportunity for an exchange to over 3,400 students since 2010.
Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus is one of the top 5 leading universities in Thailand and well-known in the hospitality and tourism industry throughout the country. The university is located in the south of Thailand on Phuket island, famous as world class tourist destination. Because of the university’s strong programs in Hospitality and Tourism Management and its ideal location, PSU Phuket has been selected as one of AIMS Programme participating universities in Thailand in the subject of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2010. For the past 10 years, PSU Phuket has welcomed 85 inbound exchange students and sent 84 outbound students to Indonesia and Malaysia.
