PSU strengthens academic ties with Indonesian universities through PSU Graduate Studies Scholarships and Admission Program

Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is actively forging closer academic partnerships with leading universities in Indonesia. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Assistant President for Promotion of Foreign Affairs, recently led a delegation to the Republic of Indonesia to conduct activities aimed at recruiting graduate students and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

During the visit, the PSU team organized proactive recruitment events at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in Surabaya on April 29 and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta on May 2. These welcoming sessions provided an overview of PSU, addressed queries from prospective students, and offered souvenirs. A key highlight was the online interviews conducted via Zoom with 23 Indonesian graduate applicants, facilitated by PSU's curriculum committee.

The interviews garnered positive results, with many applicants, including PSU alumni, demonstrating strong potential for acceptance into PSU's graduate programs and eligibility for scholarships. Notably, some alumni expressed a desire to deepen their knowledge at their alma mater and reconnect with esteemed faculty members, reflecting the enduring bonds formed during their previous studies.

Beyond recruitment activities, discussions were held on academic cooperation opportunities. PSU proposed a student mobility program that would enable undergraduate exchanges and credit transfers for approximately one semester. Both UNAIR and UGM expressed keen interest in this initiative, paving the way for further coordination.

Strengthening ties with UNAIR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit delivered a lecture titled "Net Zero Emissions: New Challenges for the Global Supply Chain" to around 30 students, fostering insightful discourse through friendly questioning and discussions.
