PSU hosted the 3rd Council of University President of Thailand in Student Development, a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in student affairs management
On 29-31 October 2023, PSU hosted the 3rd Council of University President of Thailand in Student Development, a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in student affairs management. The meeting aimed to facilitate activities for exchanging knowledge in student affairs and management among student leaders, development staffs, and alumni, contributing to the sustainable development of Thai society. The meeting was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, the PSU President, welcome remark conveyed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Youravong, the Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations. Asst. Prof. Ratchot Chompunich, the Chairman of the Council of University President of Thailand in Student Development Committee, delivered a report. The meeting was attended by 184 executives, staff of student development units, and student leaders from 29 institutions. It was held at PSU Pattani Campus.
The PSU President, Asst Prof. Dr. Niwat said that the meeting serves as a collaborative network among Vice Presidents who have responsible for student affairs in 36 institutions. The purpose is to promote, support, and coordinate activities aligned with the development of student potential. This includes supporting activities related to the ethical and moral development of students within higher education institutions, as well as organizing events for knowledge exchange in student affairs and management. This will lead to mutual benefits for universities, especially students, who will be the products of universities to enter the labor market and work together to meet the needs of the country. The focus will also be on strategies for preparing students for life and learning in universities through various services, ensuring comprehensive student care. Ultimately, the meeting aims to foster positive relationships among institutions, particularly in promoting and supporting the ongoing mission of student affairs.
Asst. Prof. Ratchot said that the meeting provides participants with the opportunity to listen and actively contribute to the presentation of opinions regarding the direction of student affairs management within institutions. as well as the guidelines for creating readiness in terms of living and learning in the university.
The activities included learning about the cultural diversity of Pattani Province through the "Pattani Heritage City" project, special lectures like enhancing volunteerism competency among students, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narit Duangsuwan, the Director of the Volunteer Center, PSU. Additionally, there was "Pattani Decoded: Creating Colors in Pattani" through transformative city activities, presented by Mr. Rachit Radenahmad, Design Director of Subper Company Limited. Another activity was "Blue Talk 3" with topics of cultivating cultural skills for student competency development, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bordin Waelateh, the Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, Pattani Campus.
