PSU Natural History Museum received Silver Award: Thailand Tourism Awards 2023

    PSU’s Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wasin Suwannarat, Vice President of Hat Yai Campus, received the Outstanding Thailand Tourism Silver Award in the category of Educational Tourism Destinations during the 14th Thailand Tourism Awards 2023, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Siriwattana Phannawadee presided over the award ceremony at Samyan Mitr Town, Bangkok, on 27 September 2023.

    Thailand Tourism Awards is a crucial event for uniting partners in the industry to establish sustainable tourism goals, aiming to promote sustainable tourism and economic development with a low carbon footprint according to the BCG Model. This year, TAT introduced a new category, 'Low Carbon & Sustainability,' to emphasize the commitment to low carbon and sustainable tourism, elevating the standards of the Thai tourism industry.
These awards create distinctive strengths, add value, and increase market opportunities for businesses to reach quality-conscious tourists who care about the environment. They also raise awareness and appreciation for environmental conservation among business operators and tourists, promoting the involvement of all stakeholders in driving the Thai tourism industry towards sustainable growth.

    The 14th Thailand Tourism Awards 2023 received 908 submissions in various categories, including Tourism Attractions, Accommodation, Health and Wellness Tourism, Event Organizers, and Low Carbon & Sustainability.

    This award is an honorable achievement for the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum. Over 15 years, the museum remains committed to continuous development in the field of natural history, connecting biodiversity data for conservation, and providing knowledge about Thailand's natural history to the youth and the general public. Additionally, they serve as an academic hub that connects experts and the public, addressing questions and issues related to natural history. They also host various educational activities for exhibition visitors and those interested in the museum, ensuring a continuous stream of engaging events.
