PSU researchers received international awards from the “48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva”




    Researchers from PSU received international awards from the "48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva" held between 26-30 April 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. The awards received are the following:



1. Honorary Gold Medal Award for the Smart Breathing Rehabilitation Device by Dr. Kittikhun Thongpull, Mr. Attasuntorn Traisuwan, Faculty of Engineering; and Mr. Hiroshi Nakahara



2. Gold Medal Award for the CD28/CD40 Co-Stimulatory Domain of the Chimeric Antigen Receptor by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jakrawadee Julamanee, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. Wannakorn Khopanlert, M.D., Asst. Prof. Dr.Pongtep Viboonjuntra, M.D., Dr.Nawaphat Jangphattananont, Faculty of Medicine; and Dr. Seitaro Terakura



3. Gold Medal Award for the Artificial intelligence to predict hearing in children by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pittayapol Petathawatchai, M.D., and Dr. Sitthichok Chaichulee, Faculty of Medicine 



4. Gold Medal Award for the Retractor for frenotomy in newborn patients with tongue tie (PSURF-2) by Prof. Dr. Surasak Sangkhathat, M.D., Ph.D.; Dr. Wison Laochareonsuk, M.D.; and Mr. Prawit Kaeonarong; Faculty of Medicine 



5. Silver Medal Award for the Artificial saliva gel balls (Dent Gel Ball) by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angkana Thearmontree, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kwunchit Oungbho, Mr. Aussadang Onlamai, Dr. Phichamon Thammakul., Dr. Sirapatsorn Khaiman, and Dr. Phimnada Piromchotsiri, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Pharmacy



    To select entries representing Thailand in this event, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) has undertaken a thorough screening process, considering works that have received NRCT funding, have been presented and won awards at the national level (e.g. research awards, national awards, research with patents/petty patents and transfer of production technology). The Geneva event, held for the 48th time, is an important international invention and innovation competition in Europe. More than 1,000 inventors/researchers from over 40 countries around the world submit entries to the prestigious event, attended by more than 10,000 visitors.
