PSU Pattani campus presents three key issues to the Prime Minister, aiming to eliminate poverty and foster social empowerment within the province of Pattani.
On 27 February 2024, PSU, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Attachai Ueranantasun, Vice President for Pattani campus, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Aruneewan Buaneaw, Vice President for Research and Social Mission for Pattani Campus, Asst. Prof. Sirichai Pummak, Dean of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, together with researchers from the Research Coordination Center for Poverty Alleviation, and Dr. Asok Ponbumrung, Acting Assistant Director of Program Management Unit on Area Based Development (PMU A), as well as the Director of Research and Innovation for Poverty Alleviation and Inequality Reduction, gathered with warmth welcome to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin at House No. 5, Anoru Road, Muang District, Pattani Province.
Prime Minister Srettha engaged in the “Tiew Tai Sud Jai" tourism promotion initiative, visiting the cultural market of the Pattani community. There, he had a privilege of meeting local leaders, community leaders, and residents at Krue Se Mosque (Masjid Kerisik in Malay). Additionally, he explored tourist spots in Pattani City, such as Ban Khun Pitak Raya, Pattani Heritage City, and the revered Leng Jujing Shrine (also known as Shrine Mae Lim Ko Niang) and the ASEAN Pattani Tourism Fair 2024. Additionally, Prime Minister held discussion with the Islamic Committee and Mosque Committee, alongside a visit to the central mosque of Pattani Province to fostering unity and understanding within the community.
During the event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Attachai, had the honor of presenting the Pattani campus's initiatives to the Prime Minister, focusing on three key areas: effective utilization of cultural funds, fostering economic growth to elevate income levels, and dedicated efforts towards poverty alleviation and enhancing social opportunities within Pattani Province.
