Honorable Visit of French Ambassador to PSU
H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, French Ambassador to Thailand,
accompanied by honorable delegates from the French Embassy, visited
Prince of Songkla University’s Hat Yai Campus on 29 May 2023. PSU
President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, university executives, and researchers welcomed the distinguished delegation at PSU’s Southern Thailand Science Park.
After the fruitful meeting held during the morning session, Dr. Xavier Grosmaitre,
Science and Higher Education Attaché, was welcomed by the PSU Faculty
of Medicine to learn about the state-of-the-art technologies at
Songklanagarind Hospital, in addition to their breakthrough digital
innovation and data analytics. Dr. Grosmaitre then delivered a
presentation on the topic "Research and Study Opportunities in France"
for interested PSU staff and students at the PSU Learning Resources
Center.
Prince of Songkla University has been enjoying bilateral collaborations
and joint activities with universities and research institutions in
France for decades. One of outstanding achievements of PSU and its
French partners is the development of human resources. As of now, over
60 PSU faculty members have received scholarships and graduated from
France. The visit of His Excellency and entourage presented a great
opportunity for both sides to explore possibilities of strengthening and
expanding existing collaborations.
