PSU Prepares Personnel for a Fulfilling Life After Retirement Building Financial, Health, and Benefits Knowledge while Exploring New Income Opportunities
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Human Resources Division, organized a pre-retirement seminar titled “Retiring with Purpose: Creating Income, Happiness, and a New Chapter in Life” from 28–29 August 2026 in Songkhla.
The program brought together 90 PSU personnel approaching retirement, helping them prepare for the transition through practical knowledge on financial planning, health and nutrition, retirement benefits, and opportunities to generate income after retirement.
On the first day, participants attended sessions on post-retirement financial planning, including taxes, income, and expenses, as well as guidance on nutrition and healthcare for a healthy and active retirement.
PSU’s Human Resources and Finance divisions also provided information on retirement benefits, including gratuities, pensions, provident funds, employee funds, healthcare benefits, and social security. Participants were also introduced to activities that allow retired personnel to remain connected with the PSU community.
On 29 August, participants visited community enterprises in Khlong Hoi Khong District, Songkhla, to explore potential career and income-generating opportunities after retirement. The study visit featured practical examples including hydroponic and pesticide-free vegetable farming, beekeeping and value-added products, and the production of traditional curry pastes using local knowledge.
The program reflects PSU’s commitment to supporting its personnel throughout every stage of their working lives. By providing essential knowledge and new perspectives, the University aims to help retiring personnel begin their next chapter with confidence, purpose, financial preparedness, and sustainable well-being.
