PSU Trang Wins Two Awards at Enactus Thailand 2026 Nypa Palm Innovation Creates Value and Strengthens Sustainable Community Economies
Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus, through the Faculty of Commerce and Management, achieved national recognition as students and advisors from the PSU Trang Rak Kaew Club won two awards at the Enactus Thailand National Exposition 2026, held on 30 August 2026 at Samyan Mitrtown Hall in Bangkok.
The team received Second Runner-up at the national level, along with a 15,000-baht prize, and was also named Southern Regional Winner in the Impact League category.
The Enactus Thailand National Exposition provides a platform for young people to apply business knowledge and entrepreneurial ideas to develop social innovations that create positive impacts on communities and the environment, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs.
For this year’s competition, the PSU Trang team presented a project focused on developing community products made from Nypa palm, transforming local resources and traditional knowledge into value-added products with greater market potential.
At the heart of the project is a co-creation approach, bringing together students, communities, entrepreneurs, and consumers to identify local needs, develop product prototypes, test the market, and use expert feedback to improve product quality and competitiveness.
The students also applied a business matching strategy to connect local communities with businesses and potential partners. By combining university knowledge with local wisdom and resources, the project aims to expand market opportunities while generating income, employment, and greater economic self-reliance for local communities.
The achievement highlights PSU Trang students’ ability to integrate knowledge from different disciplines and turn ideas into social innovations with tangible community impact. It also supports the development of a new generation of leaders who are socially and environmentally responsible.
Through initiatives like this, PSU continues to use knowledge and innovation to create sustainable value for communities and society, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the SDGs and the development of Southern Thailand.
