PSU and Krungthai Strengthen Financial Discipline among Student Loan Fund Borrowers Building Debt Awareness and Repayment Planning for Long-Term Financial Stability
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), in collaboration with Krungthai Bank, organized the second session of the “Krungthai Rak Smart University 2026” program for students receiving loans from Thailand’s Student Loan Fund (SLF) on 21 August 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, 1st Floor, Sports and Recreation Building, PSU.
The program aims to strengthen students’ financial knowledge and practical money management skills while fostering financial discipline and responsibility in managing debt. It also prepares students to effectively plan for the repayment of their student loans after graduation.
Activities focused on systematic financial planning, beginning with an assessment of personal financial habits and progressing to debt management strategies, including managing existing debt without taking on unnecessary new debt. Students also learned about SLF loan repayment, financial health assessments, debt repayment ratios, risk management through insurance, basic investment principles, and tax planning, enabling them to apply these concepts appropriately in real-life situations.
The learning experience was designed around interactive workshops and board games, allowing students to practice financial decision-making through simulated scenarios. Topics included debt management, financial health assessment, risk management, and tax planning, making complex financial concepts easier to understand and translate into practical action.

Students were also encouraged to reflect on changes in their own financial behavior, including keeping records of income and expenses, controlling spending, reducing unnecessary costs, and recognizing the importance of disciplined financial planning. These habits provide an essential foundation for managing debt obligations and preparing for effective SLF loan repayment in the future.
Students who complete all three sessions will receive a Certificate from Krungthai Bank and will be eligible to take a selection test for a four-day, three-night Boot Camp. The program will further develop their financial knowledge and practical skills, preparing them to share what they have learned with fellow students, explore opportunities to generate additional income, and potentially become “Student Financial Role Models” within the University.

The initiative reflects the ongoing collaboration between PSU and Krungthai Bank in developing students who possess not only financial knowledge, but also the discipline and responsibility required to manage their finances effectively.
Beyond reducing the risk of future debt problems, the program encourages responsible student loan repayment, helping the Student Loan Fund maintain a sustainable cycle of resources and continue providing educational opportunities for future generations.
