PSU and Krungthai Empower “Smart Students” Building Financial Literacy for Confident Life Planning in the Digital Age
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), in collaboration with Krungthai Bank, organized the “Krungthai Rak Smart University 2026” program on 21 August 2026 at Meeting Room 3409, Faculty of Management Sciences, PSU Hat Yai Campus. The program aimed to strengthen students’ financial literacy and equip them with essential financial skills before entering the workforce and managing their lives independently.
Associate Professor Dr. Wandee Suttharangsee, Director of Education and Innovative Learning Academy, presided over the opening ceremony, joined by guest speakers, university staff, and participating students.
During the program, students explored the topic “Not Enough Money… or Are We Just Not Managing It Well?” which encouraged them to examine their spending habits, identify unnecessary financial leakage, and develop a better understanding of saving, responsible credit use, and financial risks in the digital age.
Another highlight was the session “Before Your First Paycheck: Money Lessons University May Not Teach You,” led by Mr. Ken Jakkrit Kitcharatratbutra, Co-founder of Money Buffalo. The session introduced students to the modern financial landscape, investment fundamentals, the power of compound interest, and long-term retirement planning.
A Mini Workshop also provided students with an opportunity to apply these concepts and develop practical approaches to planning their financial future.
The program reflects PSU’s commitment to developing essential life skills alongside academic learning. By encouraging students to plan wisely, spend responsibly, save consistently, and stay aware of financial risks, the University aims to equip them with a strong foundation for greater financial confidence and stability in their future careers and everyday lives.
