PSU hosts CMEX-26 drill to strengthen flood preparedness in Songkhla
A Prince of Songkla University (PSU) delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wasin Suwannarat, Vice President for Hat Yai Campus, welcomed Mr. Jeseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, who presided over the opening ceremony of the 2026 National Crisis Management Exercise for Disaster Response (C-MEX 26), held under a simulated flood scenario in Songkhla Province. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Theerapat Khatmat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM); Mr. Ratthasart Chidchu, Governor of Songkhla; Mr. Ratchakorn Napapornpipat, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council; Lieutenant General Kittiwat Jamjirarak, Director of the Army Civil Affairs Department; representatives from embassies, consulates, international organizations, parliamentary committees, and government agencies, together with operational personnel and members of the public. The exercise took place at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai, Songkhla, on 17 July 2026.





Organized by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, C-MEX 26 aims to strengthen the capabilities of all participating agencies in emergency operations, coordinated planning, disaster management, and integrated response. The exercise brought together civilian agencies, police, military personnel, foundations, volunteers, local communities, and other stakeholders to enhance preparedness for future flood events. Based on a simulated large-scale flooding scenario in Songkhla Province, the exercise tested coordination and response procedures under a Level 3 major disaster situation.
