PSU hosts Cybersecurity, AI & Data Privacy 2026, exploring the latest in AI and cybersecurity




Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Office of Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems, organized “PSU Cybersecurity, AI & Data Privacy 2026” as a platform for exchanging knowledge, technology, and innovation in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and data privacy. The event brought together representatives from government agencies, the private sector, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and civil society. Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of Prince of Songkla University, presided over the opening ceremony. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, delivered the welcoming remarks, while Associate Professor Dr. Sinchai Kamolphiwong, Director of the Office of Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems, presented the event report. The event was also attended by representatives from supporting organizations, guest speakers, cybersecurity experts, university personnel, and members of the public. It was held at the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, PSU Hat Yai Campus, on 9 July 2026.



Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU, said that the university was pleased to host PSU Cybersecurity, AI & Data Privacy 2026 as a platform for sharing knowledge and experience in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and personal data protection—areas that are increasingly important to organizational and national development in the digital era. He noted that PSU places great importance on advancing the university through digital technology and artificial intelligence to support its missions in education, research, and academic services to society. At the same time, the university remains committed to promoting the responsible and secure use of technology, guided by good governance and respect for personal data rights. These principles form an important foundation for the transition towards a sustainable digital university and digital society.



Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, added that the event served as an important platform for advancing organizations and society in the digital era. It aimed to encourage the integrated exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and in-depth experience in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and personal data protection. These are pressing issues with significant implications for education, research, and academic services, alongside the shared responsibility to promote the responsible use of technology.

The event featured special lectures on a range of topics, including risk assessment before adopting AI; “Security Awareness in the AI Era: Understanding the New Risks from Frontier AI Models”; and “dotBlue AI: Developing AI for Organization-Specific Applications.” The programme also included panel discussions and technology exhibitions by leading government and private-sector organizations in Thailand. Key topics covered the application of AI within organizations, cybersecurity management, personal data protection, and approaches to preparing for future digital challenges.
