PSU holds “Freshmen Volunteer Service Day” to foster social responsibility
Prince of Songkla University, through the Division of Student Development and Alumni Affairs, Hat Yai Campus, organized the “Freshmen Volunteer Service Day” activity to encourage first-year students to engage in community service and contribute to society. The activities were carried out both on and off campus as part of the University’s New Student Orientation Week for the 2026 academic year. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Youravong, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs, at the Father’s Statue Plaza, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus.




As part of the program, students were divided into groups to carry out various community service activities, including cleaning, maintaining religious sites, painting, landscaping, and improving public areas within and beyond the University grounds. Service locations included Yensira Building, Madyamoe Muslim Child Development Center, Ban Bang Faeb School, Ban Nuea Mosque, the University Main Gate Sign, bus stop signs, and Romsritrang Building. The activity reflects the University’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible graduates and instilling a spirit of volunteerism among new students while strengthening ties between the University and the surrounding communities.
