PSU holds tribute and oath ceremony to welcome new students into the Prince of Songkla family with pride




Prince of Songkla University (PSU), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President, held a tribute and oath-taking ceremony for new students, together with the traditional raising of the University and faculty flags, to officially and warmly welcome the Class of 2026 into the PSU community. The event brought together university executives, faculty members, staff, senior students, and thousands of freshmen at the Prince Mahidol Memorial Plaza on Hat Yai Campus on June 17, 2026.




In his welcoming remarks, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub expressed the University's pleasure in receiving the new students and encouraged them to make the most of their time at PSU. He emphasized that, with the support of dedicated faculty members, modern learning facilities, comprehensive student services, accommodation, welfare and healthcare systems, students would be nurtured to become capable graduates, responsible leaders, and individuals with a spirit of service, in line with the University's commitment to contributing to society. He also encouraged students to take pride in being members of the PSU family and to use their university years to grow into graduates of quality and value.

The ceremony featured traditional performances by student clubs, including the “Rom Sri Trang Overture” by the Thai Music Club and the “Krailas Samreung” dance by the Performing Arts Club. Student representatives carried the University flag and the flags of all 16 faculties, followed by a floral tribute ceremony in honor of Prince Mahidol of Songkla. New students then joined in paying tribute, recited the oath led by student representatives, and concluded the event by singing the PSU March and Khet Rua Si Blue, marking the beginning of their journey as proud members of the PSU family.
