PSU joins 40 organizations in declaring commitment to drive “Songkhla MICE City” toward an international MICE hub
Prince of Songkla University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of the University, participated in MICE Bazaar 2026 as a key academic and knowledge-based partner. The University reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Songkhla Province in strengthening its capacity as a MICE City for the second round with great pride. The event was supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, or TCEB, and was honored by the presence of Mr. Napintorn Srisunpang, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, who presided over the ceremony. The event took place at Buri Sriphu Hotel, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, on June 8, 2026.
A significant step toward international standards was marked by the declaration ceremony to drive Songkhla MICE City forward. Prince of Songkla University joined more than 40 public and private sector network partners in expressing a shared commitment to building a strong MICE ecosystem capable of supporting world-class events. This collaboration aims to help raise Songkhla’s position in the ICCA Ranking, enhance service standards in line with international standards such as UFI and IAEE, and support the country’s targeted economic development based on the province’s local potential.
Prince of Songkla University recognizes that the success of Songkhla MICE City depends on the synergy of all sectors, including the readiness of event venues, support mechanisms from government agencies, and the warm hospitality of the people of Songkhla. As an academic institution, PSU stands ready to serve as a central connector of knowledge, research, and high-performance workforce development. These contributions will form an important foundation for building a sustainable MICE economy that grows together with the local community in a meaningful and lasting way.
