PSU AI University On Tour reaches Phuket for its third stop, empowering staff for an AI-enabled university
Prince of Songkla University (PSU) has officially launched the third stop of its “PSU AI University On Tour” initiative at the College of Computing, Phuket Campus, as part of the university’s PSU AI-Enabled University Initiative 2026. The program aims to accelerate the transformation toward a fully AI-driven and high-performance organization.
Led by Associate Professor Dr. Udomphon Puetpaiboon, Vice President for Human Resources and Special Affairs, the two-day program brought together academic and administrative staff in hands-on workshops held at computer laboratories 6702 and 6704. The strong participation reflected growing enthusiasm among PSU personnel to embrace emerging technologies and AI-powered workflows.
The 12-hour intensive training program focused on practical applications of artificial intelligence, covering topics such as AI Governance, the university’s digital platform dotBLUE, NotebookLM, Vibe Coding, and the use of AI in developing applications and chatbots. The initiative seeks to enhance both academic excellence and organizational efficiency through the responsible adoption of AI technologies.
The program also addresses a growing demand identified in the university’s 2026 AI awareness survey, which revealed that staff are increasingly seeking advanced AI capabilities and governance knowledge rather than traditional computer skills. In response, the Phuket session was designed to provide timely and relevant upskilling opportunities, transforming concerns about keeping pace with technology into opportunities for innovation.
Looking ahead, PSU aims to create at least 30 AI-enhanced courses or AI Tutor applications and develop no fewer than 20 AI-assisted projects or workflows. The university also targets a 40 percent increase in active users of the dotBLUE platform within the next six months.
