PSU delivers strong performance, winning 18 gold, 25 silver, and 24 bronze medals to finish 7th at SWU Games
The 42nd University Staff Games of Thailand, held from May 27 to June 4, 2026, under the theme “Health & Happiness,” was hosted by Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak Campus, in Nakhon Nayok Province. Throughout the competition, PSU staff athletes demonstrated strong determination, dedication and unity. Their outstanding efforts led to a total of 67 medals, consisting of 18 gold, 25 silver and 24 bronze, placing Prince of Songkla University 7th in the overall medal table.
The 18 gold medals came from athletics (12 medals), dancesport (3 medals), swimming (2 medals) and tennis (1 medal). The 25 silver medals included 16 in athletics, 3 in swimming, 2 in badminton, and 1 each in hoop takraw, pétanque, table tennis, and tennis. The 24 bronze medals were earned in athletics (11 medals), swimming (4 medals), badminton (3 medals), tennis (2 medals), golf (2 medals), pétanque (1 medal) and board games (1 medal).
Despite the strong competition, PSU athletes gave their best in every event, reflecting true sportsmanship, perseverance, and the spirit of unity among the PSU community. Their achievements have brought pride and recognition to the university. The next University Staff Games of Thailand will be hosted in 2027 by Suranaree University of Technology in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Prince of Songkla University will build on this year’s experience to further develop its athletes and prepare for the next competition.
