Opening pathways to Australia: PSU hosts AA-MAP scholarship information session

Prince of Songkla University (PSU), in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Thailand and the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) Support Unit, hosted an information session on Master’s degree scholarships in Australia with the theme “Australia Awards Mekong–Australia Partnership (AA-MAP)” on 10 March 2026. The session aimed to provide clear and comprehensive guidance on international study opportunities while fostering greater awareness among the target audience.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, followed by an opening address by the honorable Mr. John Francis, Counselor (Development) at the Australian Embassy, highlighting the importance of educational collaboration and human resource development between Australia and countries in the Mekong subregion.

Supported by the Australian Government, the AA-MAP scholarship offers individuals from Mekong countries, including Thailand, the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies at leading universities in Australia. The program seeks to enhance participants’ knowledge, professional expertise, and international networks, contributing to long-term sustainable development across the region.

During the session, Ms. Pornpitcha Singhadecho, Award Manager, provided detailed information on eligibility criteria, application procedures, and preparation for studying abroad. Participants also gained valuable insights from Mr. Yuhan Satapo, a MAP alumnus, who shared his personal experiences and offered practical guidance to prospective applicants.

The event welcomed university staff, students, and the general public in an open and engaging environment for discussion and exchange. It also strengthened participants’ understanding of the AA-MAP scholarship’s role in advancing educational cooperation and human resource development within the Mekong region.

This initiative reflects PSU’s continued commitment to promoting international education pathways and supporting its academic community in accessing global opportunities and collaborative networks, thereby contributing to the university’s sustained academic development.
