NIT Fukui College, Japan, visits PSU to strengthen academic, research, and student exchange collaboration
A PSU delegation led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Eisuke Sentoku and Prof. Dr. Osamu Haraguchi from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Fukui College, Japan, during their visit to the Hat Yai Campus on 27 August 2025.
For more than a decade, PSU and NIT Fukui College have fostered a close academic partnership through student and staff exchange, alongside collaborative teaching and research activities, particularly in the fields of Computer, Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering. This visit represents another significant step in strengthening academic and research cooperation, expanding student exchange opportunities, reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing knowledge and promoting cultural understanding.
In 2025, two undergraduate students from NIT Fukui College, majoring in Information Engineering, joined a one-month internship program at the College of Computing, PSU Phuket Campus. On 26 August 2025, the delegates from Fukui College visited these students and met their internship supervisors at Phuket Campus.
In addition, the delegates visited the Faculty of Engineering to discuss further collaboration on student exchange programs, and then explored the Biomedical and Biomedical Engineering programs at the Faculty of Medicine.
Building on this collaborative effort, PSU is preparing to resume the internship program with NIT Fukui College in April 2026, further strengthening the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between the two institutions.
