PSU welcomes Kyoto University delegate to discuss academic collaboration




On 24 July 2025, a PSU team led by Assistant President for International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wongkot Phuphumirat welcomed Prof. Dr. Masaharu Motokawa, representative of Kyoto University, Japan, on the occasion of his visit to PSU to discuss the development of academic cooperation between the two universities. The meeting was held on-site at PSU’s Hat Yai Campus, and online via Zoom.



During the meeting, the two sides exchanged ideas and explored possible areas for collaboration between PSU’s faculties and campuses and Kyoto University. Potential cooperation includes student and staff exchange, joint research projects, and co-hosting conferences and seminars.

Participants from various faculties and campuses of PSU attended the discussion. The areas of interest for future collaboration include Medicine, Nursing, Science, Business Administration, Education, and Digital Technology.



Dr. Wongkot expressed his delight that PSU is partnering with Kyoto University, one of Japan’s leading universities, and extended his appreciation to all PSU units for their contributions and ideas. He emphasized that this meeting marks a significant step in strengthening ongoing collaboration and initiating new joint projects that will bring mutual academic benefits in the future.
