6.5.4 Sustainable water extraction on campus
Metric: Water in the community
Where water is extracted (for example from aquifers, lakes or rivers) utilise sustainable water extraction technologies on associated university grounds on and off campus.
The university has implemented technology to pump raw groundwater for filtration and use in consumption. An automated water production system controlled by SCADA has been installed, along with a water quality improvement system or a water production system using a Pulsator Clarifier. This system filters raw groundwater through a process of water quality improvement, and the water is tested for quality before being supplied to faculties and departments within the campus. Additionally, the Trang campus has a reporting program that monitors groundwater usage. By utilizing this groundwater pumping technology, a total of 746,990 cubic meters of groundwater (across all 5 campuses) can be extracted.
