6.5.3 Off-campus water conservation support
Metric: Water in the community
Support practical water conservation off campus
Prince of Songkla University actively supports off-campus water conservation initiatives that contribute to sustainable water management and community resilience. The University has constructed a reservoir with an overflow dam system in the Thung Yai expansion area, Thung Yai Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, with a storage capacity of 35,000 cubic meters. This reservoir serves multiple purposes: it stores water for practical use, supports irrigation and campus expansion activities, and slows water runoff, thereby reducing the risk of flooding in surrounding communities.
Through this project, PSU demonstrates its commitment to community-centered water conservation, ensuring the efficient use of natural resources and enhancing climate adaptation capacity for both the University and nearby residents.
