6.2.1 Measure the total volume of water used in the university that is taken from mains supply, desalinated, or extracted from rivers, lakes, or aquifers.

Metric: Water consumption per person

Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus, has a reservoir within the university with a storage capacity of 437,500 cubic meters. It is used to store water for consumption, as a backup source of raw water for producing tap water, and to help prevent flooding during the rainy season. Additionally, it serves as a recreational area and exercise spot for staff, students, and the general public. The university has also constructed another reservoir with an overflow dam system to store water for use and slow down the flow of water, preventing flooding in nearby areas. This reservoir, with a capacity of 35,000 cubic meters, is located in the expansion area of Thung Yai, Thung Yai Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.

The university has installed both standard and online water meters to measure the volume of water used within the university.

The online meter program allows real-time monitoring of water usage, helping to control water consumption, save water, and reduce costs.
