8.2.9 Employment practice labour rights

Metric: Employment practice
Recognise labour rights (freedom of association and collective bargaining) for all, including women and international staff

Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is firmly committed to upholding and protecting labour rights for all employeesacademic, administrative, technical, and support staffregardless of gender, nationality, or employment status. The University ensures that all personnel enjoy freedom of association, collective bargaining rights, and equal opportunities in accordance with Thai labour laws and international labour standards.

PSU recognises the importance of inclusive participation and employee representation in institutional decision-making. Staff are encouraged to express their views and engage in open dialogue through official committees, staff councils, and joint consultation mechanisms established across faculties and administrative units. These platforms promote fair working conditions, mutual respect, and transparency in employment practices.

For female and international employees, PSU provides equal protection and support under its human resource policies. This includes ensuring non-discriminatory recruitment and employment, equal pay for equal work, and protection against workplace harassment or bias. International staff members receive additional administrative and legal assistance regarding work permits, visas, and welfare benefits to ensure fair treatment and compliance with labour regulations.

Through these measures, PSU reinforces its commitment to ethical employment, equality, and decent work for all, ensuring that the university community operates in a safe, fair, and inclusive environment that values the dignity and rights of every individual.
