17.2.5 Collaboration with NGOs for SDGs
Metric: Relationships to support the goals
Collaborate with NGOs to tackle the SDGs through: student volunteering programmes, research programmes, or development of educational resource
Prince of Songkla University (PSU) collaborated with the Thailand Professional and Organizational Development Network Association in Higher Education (ThaiPOD or QUAT)—a non-governmental academic association—to co-organize the 12th PSU Education Conference under the theme “Bridging our Future: Sustainable and Inclusive Education.”
This collaboration aimed to promote sustainable and inclusive education through the exchange of knowledge, research, and educational innovation among faculty, researchers, and students. The event brought together over 300 participants from higher education institutions across Thailand and featured student involvement, research presentations, and academic development workshops aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG4 (Quality Education) and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Through keynote lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and the Southern CWIE Forum 2024 (Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education), PSU and ThaiPOD provided platforms for student engagement, volunteer participation, and academic collaboration—fostering real-world learning experiences and strengthening partnerships between universities and non-governmental educational networks to advance sustainable and inclusive education in Thailand.
