14.4.3 Reducing marine pollution (policy)

Metric: Water sensitive waste disposal

Have a policy on preventing and reducing marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities

In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 14, "Life Below Water," which focuses on the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources, Prince of Songkla University has introduced measures to support these objectives. SDG 14 addresses key issues such as pollution, the management and conservation of marine fisheries, equitable access to fishery resources, and the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems.

To ensure that the university’s operations are in harmony with these goals and to promote the conservation and sustainable use of marine environments, Prince of Songkla University has implemented specific measures. These aim to protect marine resources while supporting sustainable practices in marine-related sectors, helping to preserve oceanic ecosystems for future generations.
