Learning Beyond the Classroom: SMP 2026 Explores Southern Thailand
Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus (PSU Pattani), continues to advance internationalization through the Student Mobility Program (SMP) 2026, providing international students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through meaningful engagement with local communities and cultures.
On 7 August 2026, SMP 2026 students explored Songkhla Province through visits to Chang Puak Elephant Camp, Samila Beach, Nang Ngam Road, Wat Koksamanakhun, and PSU Hat Yai Campus. These experiences allowed students to explore the history, culture, lifestyles, and social diversity of Southern Thailand firsthand.
By connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences, students developed a deeper understanding of Thai society while strengthening communication, teamwork, adaptability, and intercultural skills. Thai students also played an active role as cultural ambassadors, creating a two-way learning experience in which everyone became both a learner and a cultural ambassador.
More than an academic exchange, SMP 2026 reflects PSU Pattani’s commitment to Internationalization on Campus by integrating cultural diversity into the learning environment and connecting students with local communities and the wider global society. Through these experiences, students gain new perspectives that they can bring back and share with their own communities, contributing to a more connected and culturally understanding world.
