PSU Pattani Promotes Multicultural Space, Strengthening Thailand–Indonesia Academic Collaboration
Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, welcomed teachers and students from Ummul Quro Islamic High School, Indonesia, for a study visit aimed at enhancing learning experiences in a multicultural society and fostering tangible international academic collaboration.
On 17 April 2026, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, received a delegation of teachers and students from Ummul Quro Islamic High School, Indonesia, led by Miss Shintawati. The visit was organized to provide insights into educational management within a multicultural context in Thailand’s southern border provinces. The delegation was officially welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Warapark Maitreephun, Assistant President for Research and Social Mission, Pattani Campus.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Warapark Maitreephun delivered a welcome address, highlighting the role of PSU Pattani as a “hub of a multicultural society,” reflecting the diversity of ethnicities, religions, and cultures in the southern border region, as well as the peaceful coexistence among communities.
He also emphasized the campus’s strengths in the field of Social Sciences, which focus on the study of society, culture, and communities within a multicultural context, along with the development of knowledge closely connected to the local area. In addition, the university operates two secondary-level demonstration schools: the Demonstration School under the Faculty of Education, and the Islamic Science Demonstration School under the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. Both institutions play a significant role in advancing basic education alongside higher education.
During the visit, the delegation attended an academic presentation introducing the university’s programs and facilities, and engaged in discussions with university staff. The program concluded with a visit to the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Cultural Studies and a campus tour, allowing participants to experience the university environment firsthand.
This activity reflects PSU’s strong commitment to strengthening international academic collaboration and its role as a dynamic learning space within a truly multicultural society.
