PSU Pattani Campus Advances Academic Collaboration through Visits to UniSZA and UMT, Malaysia







    From 19–21 January 2026, Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Warapark Maitreephun, Assistant President for Research and Social Mission, Pattani Campus, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Hareesol Khun-Inkeeree, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities Research in Asia (JSHRA), and a delegation from PSU Pattani Campus, paid official visits to Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in Terengganu, Malaysia.

    The visits aimed to strengthen research collaboration and promote sustainable international development. Key objectives included the exchange of academic knowledge to enhance research cooperation, the advancement of academic operations to international standards, and the promotion of internationalization, particularly through supporting the progression of JSHRA toward SCOPUS indexing.

    During the visit to UniSZA, the PSU Pattani Campus delegation met with university executives and members of the editorial board. On this occasion, the delegation formally presented the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) previously signed between the two institutions, symbolizing their long-standing relationship and continued collaboration. Discussions also focused on expanding research cooperation, further developing JSHRA, and promoting international activities through student exchanges and joint learning initiatives under the theme of contemporary environmental issues and global challenges, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    Meanwhile, during the visit to UMT, in-depth discussions were held on the future growth of JSHRA, with an emphasis on enhancing article quality, strengthening networks of academic reviewers, and expanding international academic collaboration to support the journal’s advancement toward SCOPUS indexing. In addition, both institutions exchanged ideas on developing student exchange programs to provide students with opportunities to learn collaboratively and address current environmental challenges, in line with the principles of sustainable development under the SDGs framework.

    These visits mark an important step in advancing PSU Pattani Campus’s missions in research and internationalization, reaffirming the university’s role in strengthening academic cooperation networks within the ASEAN region and contributing to higher education development that responds to global sustainability challenges.
