PSU Pattani Pays Courtesy Calls on Consuls General of China, Malaysia, and Indonesia to Strengthen Educational Cooperation







    On 9 January 2026, the Corporate Communication and Global Affairs Center of Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Montira Leelakriangsak, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Pattani Campus, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuttana Kuakul, Assistant Dean for International Affairs and Academic Services, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, and staff from Corporate Communication and Global Affairs Center, paid courtesy visits to the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, the Consulate General of Malaysia, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla Province. The visits aimed to discuss ways to promote educational cooperation and to extend New Year greetings for 2026.

    At 9:00 a.m., the PSU Pattani Campus delegation visited Mr. Zhang Xiaorong, Vice Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Songkhla. The meeting included an exchange of information on the overall situation of Chinese students studying at PSU Pattani Campus, as well as discussions on future academic cooperation. Both sides also discussed plans for collaborative projects between PSU Pattani Campus and the People’s Republic of China in 2026. The Vice Consul General provided recommendations and proposed ideas for developing academic programs that could enhance opportunities to attract more Chinese students to pursue their studies at the Pattani Campus.

    At 10:00 a.m., the PSU Pattani Campus delegation visited Mr. Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi, Consul General of Malaysia in Songkhla. The Consul General inquired about the flood situation in Pattani Province and exchanged views on educational cooperation between Malaysian higher education and collaborative activities previously undertaken by Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, with Malaysian higher education. He also conveyed New Year greetings and expressed his vision to increase collaborative activities between the Consulate General and PSU Pattani Campus in 2026.

    At 11:00 a.m., the PSU Pattani Campus delegation visited to Mr. Winardi Hanafi Lucky, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla. During the meeting, the Consul General emphasized the importance of education as a foundation for national development. Both parties exchanged views on expanding educational opportunities and the potential for future academic collaboration. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Montira Leelakriangsak extended her congratulations to the Consul General on his official appointment as Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla.

    These courtesy visits marked another important step in strengthening cordial relations and enhancing educational and academic cooperation between Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, and countries in the region, contributing to the sustainable advancement of the University’s internationalization.
