PSU Pattani Opens International Platform to Empower Culturally Diverse Youth and Enrich Campus Life through Multicultural Learning







    Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, hosted the “International Students: Welcome Back Event” on 30 June 2025, providing a warm and vibrant welcome to returning international students from various countries. The event reflected the university’s commitment to fostering a multicultural learning environment, strengthening international engagement, and promoting personal and academic growth within a diverse community.

    A total of 30 international students participated in this meaningful event, representing a diverse range of countries, including Guinea, Liberia, Côte d''''Ivoire, China, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and others. The occasion was honored by the presence of senior university administrators. Asst. Prof. Dr. Montira Leelakriangsak, Vice President for Academic Affairs, officially welcomed the students and emphasized the value of international students as integral members of the university community. She reaffirmed the university’s dedication to creating an inclusive and culturally rich academic atmosphere that benefits both students and the institution as a whole. Asst. Prof. Dr. Bordin Waelateh, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs, Pattani Campus, highlighted the wide array of academic and extracurricular opportunities available to international students. He encouraged them to actively participate in campus life, cultivate intercultural friendships, and remain committed to achieving their academic goals. He also assured them of the university’s continuous support throughout their educational journey. Asst. Prof. Dr. Warapark Maitreephun, Assistant President for Research and Social Mission, Pattani CampusPattani Campus, discussed the university’s role in advancing internationalization. He stressed the importance of creating spaces for international students to engage in academic services, research activities, and community outreach, fostering intercultural understanding and collaborative learning in a multicultural society. The event further underscored PSU Pattani’s ongoing efforts to develop support systems that empower international students to thrive academically and socially, while contributing meaningfully to the broader community.

    On behalf of the student body, Mr. Mohamed Sidibe, an international student from Guinea currently studying in the Faculty of Science and Technology, expressed his sincere gratitude to the university. He described the event as a valuable opportunity for international students to connect and feel the genuine care and support extended by the institution.

    The program also introduced key university personnel responsible for international student affairs, including staff from the International Affairs Office, the Registration Office, the Office of Corporate Communications, and other supporting units who play an essential role in enhancing student life and services.

    This event not only served as a welcome back gesture, but also stood as a symbol of PSU Pattani’s dedication to internationalization. It reinforced the university’s vision of cultivating a learning society grounded in mutual understanding, diversity, and sustainable global engagement.
