PSU Pattani Joins Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Scholars to Enhance Regional Cooperation and Development
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025 Prof. Qu Jianwen, Director of the Yunnan Association for Southeast Asian Studies, Kunming City, People''''s Republic of China, is undertaking an official visit to Thailand from April 27 to May 3, 2025, as a guest of the Office of the National Security Council.
As part of this visit, an academic conference among relevant agencies was organized on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Laguna Grand Hotel & Spa, Songkhla Province. Representatives from both sides attended the meeting to discuss strategic opportunities for cooperation and promote cooperation on economic, social, and educational security.
Representing Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, Assistant Prof. Dr. Montira Leelakriangsak, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Pattani Campus, joined the meeting to exchange perspectives with Professor Qu and his delegation. The discussions focused on economic development in the southern border provinces of Thailand, with the aim of supporting regional stability and security, and exploring opportunities to expand southern Thai trade into Chinese markets.
The meeting also highlighted the potential for enhanced collaboration between Thailand and China in several key areas, including academic exchange, multicultural engagement, and educational initiatives. These efforts are intended to foster mutual understanding and promote sustainable development in Thailand''s southern border regions.
