PSU Pattani Pays Courtesy Calls on Consuls General of Indonesia, Malaysia, and China to Discuss Educational Collaboration and Extend New Year Greetings for 2025
On February 5, 2025, the Corporate Communication and Global Affairs Center of Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Pattani Campus, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Montira Leelakriangsak, Vice President for Academic Affairs, paid courtesy calls on the Consuls General of the Republic of Indonesia, the Federation of Malaysia, and the People''s Republic of China in Songkhla Province-the meetings aimed to discuss strategies for enhancing educational cooperation while also extending New Year greetings for 2025.
At 10:00 AM, the PSU Pattani Campus delegation visited Mr. Suargana Pringganu Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla. The discussions focused on strengthening academic collaboration between PSU Pattani Campus and Indonesian educational institutions, including student and faculty exchanges, as well as language and cultural training programs. These initiatives aim to provide greater educational opportunities for Indonesian students interested in studying in Thailand.
Later, at 1:30 PM, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi, Consul General of the Federation of Malaysia in Songkhla. The discussion centered on expanding educational opportunities for Malaysian students at PSU Pattani Campus, developing programs that align with the needs of Malaysian students—particularly in the fields of ASEAN languages and culture—and facilitating student exchange programs between the two countries.
At 3:00 PM, the delegation visited the Consul General of the People''s Republic of China in Songkhla, Mr.Wang Zhijian, to discuss academic cooperation between PSU Pattani Campus and Chinese universities. The discussions covered student exchange programs, joint curriculum development, and cultural exchange initiatives to foster mutual understanding between Thailand and China, and scholarship support for Chinese students wishing to study in Thailand.
During the discussions with all three Consuls General, the PSU Pattani campus proposed initiatives to encourage and support students from Indonesia, Malaysia, and China to pursue both short-term and long-term academic programs at PSU Pattani Campus in the 2025 academic year. The consulates expressed their strong commitment to supporting these initiatives, underscoring their dedication to fostering international educational collaborations.
