PSU organizes forum to boost university research potential and global ranking competitiveness

Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Center for International Affairs and Corporate Communication in collaboration with the Research and Development Office, hosted a four-day executive and researcher forum aimed at driving the university’s research capabilities. Held on August 3, 7, 10, and 11, 2026, at Meeting Room 210, President’s Office, in a hybrid format (Onsite and Online), the event brought together approximately 190 university executives, researchers, and key stakeholders to exchange perspectives and establish strategic directions for research development.

This joint initiative utilized research analytics and university ranking data to evaluate the research performance across specific academic disciplines. The forum provided a platform for leadership and researchers to discuss opportunities, address challenges, and propose tailored support mechanisms to promote high-quality, high-impact research aligned with the university’s context. Ultimately, these collaborative efforts aim to elevate research quality, foster international collaborations, and enhance PSU's global competitiveness.

The discussions covered three high-potential academic fields: Agriculture & Forestry, Business & Management, and Medicine, along with a dedicated session for PSU's Top 50 Researchers. Insights from SciVal and the QS World University Rankings by Subject were utilized to analyze performance metrics and guide future development strategies.

Through this forum, the university gained deep data-driven insights into ranking benchmarks to evaluate discipline-specific performance. Additionally, actionable policy recommendations and targeted support strategies were identified, providing a solid foundation for strategic planning to advance Prince of Songkla University toward global excellence.
