PSU Faculty of Science partners with 17 schools to strengthen science education and inspire future scientists
The Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Hat Yai Campus, has strengthened its academic partnership with schools across Southern Thailand by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 17 partner schools. The initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of students, teachers, and educational personnel while creating pathways for students to pursue higher education and careers in science.
The signing ceremony was led by Professor Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean, Faculty of Science, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Kittipol Nualtong, Associate Dean for Social Mission and Special Affairs, who presented the Faculty's vision and future plans for collaboration with partner schools.
The partnership focuses on equipping students with future-ready knowledge and skills through a wide range of academic and professional development activities, including science camps, advanced workshops, laboratory training, and programs in mathematics, science, and emerging technologies. These activities are designed to provide hands-on learning experiences and encourage students to pursue further education and careers in science-related fields.
The Faculty also aims to support the professional development of teachers by providing updated knowledge and teaching resources, helping schools improve learning outcomes and keep pace with rapid changes in science and technology.
The new agreement includes the renewal of partnerships with seven existing schools and the addition of ten new partner schools, further expanding the Faculty's educational network throughout Southern Thailand.
A key feature of the collaboration is the development of academic pathways beyond enrichment activities. Students will have opportunities to participate in research experiences, academic training, and special admission pathways (Quota/Special Track) leading to undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Science, including health science disciplines.
This partnership reflects Prince of Songkla University's commitment to serving as a regional center for science education. Beyond producing graduates, researchers, and innovators, the University continues to work closely with schools and teachers to nurture the next generation of scientists and technology professionals who will contribute to Thailand's future development.
