PSU and Krungthai Bank launch “Krungthai Loves Smart University 2026” to strengthen financial literacy for student loan recipients
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), in collaboration with Krungthai Bank, has launched the “Krungthai Loves Smart University 2026” program to equip students receiving loans from Thailand’s Student Loans Fund (SLF) with essential personal financial management skills.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Monthira Tanthanuch, Assistant to the President for Student Well-being, on July 17, 2026, at the Phum Panya Sin Hall, Suvarnabhumi Institute, PSU Hat Yai Campus. The first session welcomed 100 student participants.
The program is designed to strengthen financial literacy—an essential life skill for students in the 21st century. It focuses particularly on SLF borrowers, helping them develop practical knowledge of budgeting, saving, debt management, and financial discipline in preparation for their future careers and financial responsibilities.
The training was led by a team of specialists from Krungthai Bank, including Mr. Nattapong Deeboon, Head of Marketing Activation, Ms. Wannisa Paripotang, Marketing Activation Officer, Mr. Thaworn Thapyang, Senior Marketing Activation Officer, and facilitators from the Bank’s Hat Yai Regional Office.
Participants attended interactive workshops and hands-on activities, including the “Financial Pyramid” exercise, personal financial health assessments, and evaluations of assets and liabilities. Students also learned how to set financial goals, make personal commitments, and reflect on their future financial aspirations through guided activities designed to encourage long-term financial planning.
The Krungthai Loves Smart University 2026 program aims to cultivate responsible saving habits and consistent loan repayment behavior, helping reduce the risk of loan default after graduation. It also encourages students to recognize their responsibility as beneficiaries of educational opportunities and to contribute to creating opportunities for future generations.
In addition, the program introduces participants to practical strategies for generating additional income and developing financial resilience in the digital economy.
The training consists of three sessions, scheduled for July 17, August 21, and September 18, 2026.
Students will receive three extracurricular activity hours for each session attended. Those who complete all three sessions will be awarded a certificate from Krungthai Bank and will have the opportunity to participate in an advanced Boot Camp designed to further develop their financial and professional skills.
