PSU and RSPG hold coordination meeting to prepare for the 9th Regional Academic Conference and Exhibition
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Regional Coordinating Center of the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG), convened the second Joint Steering and Coordination Subcommittee Meeting of 2026 to review preparations for the 9th Regional Academic Conference and Exhibition on School Botanical Gardens and Local Resource Bases.
The meeting, held on June 15, 2026, at Meeting Room 210 of the Office of the President, PSU Hat Yai Campus, and via Zoom, was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Wasin Suwannarat, Vice President for Hat Yai Campus. University executives, subcommittee members, and representatives from relevant units participated to monitor progress and strengthen coordination across all areas of operation.
Discussions focused on the progress of 17 subcommittees responsible for various aspects of the event, including medical and nursing services, ceremonies, reception, catering, registration and data processing, royal hospitality arrangements, exhibitions by RSPG partner agencies and the Thai Peninsula Geopark Festival, academic conferences and exhibitions on school botanical gardens and local resource bases, and the RSPG–PSU exhibition.
Additional areas reviewed included transportation, traffic and security management, venue preparation, vendor and food services, public relations and video production, audiovisual and information technology systems, stage management and performances, budgeting and finance, as well as fundraising activities in support of RSPG initiatives.
The meeting served as an important mechanism to integrate the efforts of all working groups and ensure that academic programs, exhibitions, ceremonial arrangements, visitor services, information technology systems, security, and financial management proceed efficiently and in a coordinated manner.
