Prince of Songkla University (PSU) offers free public access to its museums, exhibition spaces, galleries, and collections of art and cultural artifacts, welcoming all visitors to explore and learn without charge.
PSU Pattani Pirom
History and Significance
“PSU Pattani Phrom” is a historic two-story building located at 203 Pattani Phirom Road, Anoru Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pattani Province, covering an area of 39 square wah. It is situated within the Pattani Old Town Conservation Area, as designated by the Committee for the Conservation and Development of Rattanakosin and Old Towns on March 10, 2015.
The ground floor serves as an exhibition and service area, showcasing the products and services of Prince of Songkla University. It functions as an information service center, providing access to research data, innovations, university activities, Pattani Studies information, and information about Pattani Bay.
The upper floor is a multi-purpose space, designed to be a learning room for students and the community, a meeting room for academic services, and a co-working space connecting university personnel with the local community. The space supports key research areas of the Pattani Campus, such as Pattani Studies, Rubber, Tourism, Mathematics and Statistics, Education, Fisheries, Halal Food, Energy, Languages, Islamic Studies, Psychological Healing, Conflict Management, and Peace Culture.
The building also serves as a model Green Office, promoting environmental sustainability.
The PSU Pattani Pirom Learning and Academic Service Center acts as a bridge linking the university’s missions in research, innovation development, and academic services with the business and private sectors, facilitating the transfer of knowledge, technology, and innovation to strengthen local communities and address challenges in the Southern Border Provinces.
Strategically located in the heart of the community, surrounded by local residences, the center is easily accessible to the public. It serves as a community hub for extending knowledge toward development and a space for preserving and promoting the cultural heritage and way of life of the people of Pattani.

Phra Ya Phibul Phitthayapark House Museum
The Phra Ya Phibul Phitthayapark House Museum is located within the Kalayaniwatthana Institute of Cultural Studies. The institute received the original Phra Ya Phibul Phitthayapark House, which was later dismantled and reconstructed on its premises.
Ammat Tho Phra Ya Phibul Phitthayapark (Thong Kuptasa) was a native of Sing Buri Province. In 1908 (B.E. 2451), he was transferred from his position as a teacher at Suan Kulab School in Bangkok to serve as the Deputy Education Officer of Pattani Monthon (Administrative Circle). Later, in 1930 (B.E. 2473), he was appointed as the Education Officer of Nakhon Si Thammarat Monthon.
The house features a simple and elegant interior design. On display are certificates of honor, medals, and insignia associated with various official uniforms worn by Phra Ya Phibul Phitthayapark. The museum also highlights his bookshelves and collection of literature, reflecting his deep passion for reading and composing traditional Thai verse (Sakawa poetry).

Southern Art and Culture Gallery
The Southern Art and Culture Gallery was established by the Kalayaniwatthana Institute of Cultural Studies, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. The gallery features exhibitions on the history and cultural heritage of Thailand’s three southern border provinces, divided into 13 thematic zones. These include topics such as the Geography of the Southern Borderlands, Prehistoric and Ethnographic Periods, Early Historical Periods, Patani Darussalam, and the Rattanakosin Era, among others.
In addition to historical and cultural exhibits, the gallery also serves as an art space showcasing contemporary artworks by local southern artists, as well as Thai and international artists. It includes both permanent and rotating exhibition rooms, providing visitors with diverse cultural and artistic experiences.
