Metric: University measures towards affordable and clean energy
Have a policy on divesting investments from carbon-intensive energy industries notably coal and oil.
Prince of Songkla University is actively advancing towards sustainable development, aligning its initiatives with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, which have been set as global targets for sustainable progress from 2015 to 2030. This alignment also supports the commitments made during the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP24), focusing on achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2030. This target is crucial in keeping the global temperature increase below 1.5 degrees Celsius. Under the authority granted by Sections 34 and 39 of the Prince of Songkla University Act of 2016, the university has issued the "Prince of Songkla University Net Zero Emission Policy 2023," which includes the following initiatives and commitments toward achieving this goal including divesting investments from carbon-intensive energy industries notably coal and oil.
