4.3.1 Public resources (lifelong learning)

Metric: Lifelong learning measures

Provide free access to educational resources for those not studying at the university.

PSU has been at the forefront of promoting lifelong learning through a variety of online and onsite initiatives. These programs are designed to cater to the diverse learning needs of students, staff, and the general public. PSU’s Education and Innovative Learning Academy (EILA) oversees the university’s online lifelong learning programs, which include Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), offering micro-credentials, and access to research databases through the PSU LibX application and the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). In addition to online learning, PSU also offers a range of onsite learning opportunities. These include specialized libraries, such as the Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center, which provides computers, digital resources, study rooms, and 24-hour access to use facilities. The university also houses the Digital Publishing and John F. Kennedy Library and the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum for public access. For those interested in cultural studies, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Cultural Studies serves as a center for academic tourism and houses a collection of knowledge about the southern region of Thailand.
PSU has also been actively involved in community development through initiatives like the INNO4Tourism project, which aims to develop sustainable tourism workforce by creating online modules and establishing career offices in Laos and Thailand.
