Provide access on food security and sustainable agriculture and aquaculture knowledge, skills or technology to local farmers and food producers.

Transfer of Knowledge and Technology on Layer Hen Welfare and Cage-Free Production System 


        On March 29, 2024, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Faculty of Natural Resources, organized a training workshop on “Layer Hen Welfare and Cage-Free Production System.” The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Setthawat Petnui, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province, and warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyawan Wattanachant, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources. 


        The training brought together farmers, officers from the Department of Livestock Development, private sector representatives (e.g., CPF), and students from the Department of Animal Production Innovation and Management. This academic collaboration involved the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Agricultural Technology and Innovation Management Institute, Catalyst Co., Ltd. Social Enterprise, and Prince of Songkla University.

Capacity Building for Climate-Resilient Durian Orchard Management 


        On September 8, 2024, the Faculty of Natural Resources, PSU, organized a training program on “Durian Orchard Management under Climate Variability.” The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyawan Wattanachant, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources, who warmly welcomed participants, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongthep Akkaratanakul, Advisor to the Center for Agricultural Biotechnology, Kasetsart University, which supported the training. 


        The workshop attracted 120 participants, including farmers, agricultural officers, and university staff, and featured expert speakers from both the Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and PSU’s Faculty of Natural Resources. The training comprised lectures at Room 3305, Building 3, Faculty of Natural Resources, and a field session at Jit Ruksa Farm, Thepha District, Songkhla Province.
