11.4.8 Planning development - new build standards
Metric: Sustainable practices
Build new buildings to sustainable standards
Green buildings on campus
PSU Hat Yai designs and renovates campus buildings to recognized green-building standards that embed SDG principles, prioritizing energy-saving building systems and people-centered usability. The university’s Terms of Reference (TOR) for all new builds and upgrades require Universal Design (“design for all”) so students, staff, visitors, and people with disabilities can access and use spaces equitably, spanning entrances, circulation, shared areas, and services. These TOR provisions guide current improvement projects (e.g., cafeteria upgrades) and ensure future facilities remain efficient, inclusive, and resilient, demonstrating PSU’s commitment to high-quality, sustainable environments for learning, work, and community life.
