Research and Development Office

The Research and Development Office was established as an agency, according to a royal decree on 23 May 1986, as the central unit of the university. It serves to guide, plan, drive and support the research mission of the University by focusing on multidisciplinary research in a way that combines manpower and resources with all internal and external faculties and agencies. The research results are then applied to support the development of the southern region, in accordance with the development of the country. In 2004, the whole structure of the research management system of the university was improved. The Research and Development Office is the main research operation support unit. Therefore, tasks and staff from the Education Service Division have been combined with the Research and Development Office, while Academic Outreach work has been transferred to other agencies. Later, these tasks have been reintegrated to five departments: the Research Policy and Strategy Department, Research Fund Management Department, Research Data and Information Department, Social Research Mission Department, and Research Integrity Department.
