PSU attends the ASEA-UNINET 19th Plenary Meeting in Malaysia




A PSU delegation, comprising Assistant President for International Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Wongkot Phuphumirat and colleagues from the Global Affairs Office, successfully participated in the 19th Plenary Meeting of the ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET). The event was hosted by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang, Malaysia from 26 February to 1 March 2024, bringing together scholars and research experts from over 40 universities covering Asia and Europe. Unique to this meeting was a renewed focus on alumni engagement. The PSU Assistant President led a working group discussion on the subject, and presented its findings.



ASEA-UNINET, established in 1994, has been instrumental in promoting higher education cooperation between ASEAN countries and European universities, facilitating a wide range of academic and cultural exchanges that have benefited countless students and academics over the years. The 19th Plenary Meeting in Penang has once again highlighted the network’s role in bridging continents through education and research.



The outcomes of this meeting left a lasting positive impact on PSU's internationalization efforts and its mission to foster better understanding and cooperation across cultures and disciplines.
