PSU is partnering as an academic collaborator to organize the 1st Asia-Middle East-Africa Conference on Academic and Research Integrity (ACARI2023)




On December 17-19 2023, PSU has collaborated as an academic partner in organizing the 1st Asia - Middle East - Africa Conference on Academic and Research Integrity (ACARI2023) under the theme of "Global Education, Local Values: A regional dialogue on academic and research integrity" at Middlesex University Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.



The ACARI 2023 conference was aimed to promote and support academic and research integrity in the education sector in the Asia – Middle East – Africa (AMEA) region. The conference provided a platform for presenting research findings, exchanging ideas, and offering suggestions under the overarching theme "Global Education, Local Values: A regional dialogue on academic and research integrity." Various subtopics were explored, such as Academic integrity - awareness, knowledge, practice, Teaching, learning and assessing with integrity, Contract cheating and impact on quality of education - student, staff and institutional perspectives, Ethical considerations and processes in research, and research publications, retractions, and predatory journals. The conference was attended by over 400 participants from diverse countries joining both onsite and online sessions.



In the conference, representatives from PSU participated, including, Prof. Dr. Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong, M.D., the Head of the Department of Epidemiology, Faculty of Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Assistant Vice President for International Affairs. Prof. Dr. Virasakdi, participated as a panelist in the session "Research and Ethics in Health Science" session, with academics from various countries, including the College of Medicine, Ajman University, UAE, Gulf Medical University, UAE, University of Derby, UK, and Riyadh Second Health Cluster, Saudi Arabia.
